  • Directo a México provides U.S. financial institutions with a set of promotional materials once the institution has enrolled in the service. These promotional materials allow financial institutions to better promote the service to their customers.
  • The Federal Reserve Bank and Banco de México have developed these promotional materials in both English and Spanish to better facilitate the promotion of Directo a México. The materials include:
  • In some areas in the United States, the Mexican Consulates and representatives of IME (Institute of Mexicans Living Abroad) have been active in recruiting financial institutions.

Directo a México has been promoted in several forums, for instance:

  • Officials IME meeting – Mexico City
  • Councils IME 4th Ordinary Meeting – Mexico City
  • NAFTA financial committee meeting – Mexico City
  • Remittances meetings coordinated by “National Presidency”
  • Federal Reserve of Atlanta officials have carried out several meetings with banks in different USA states.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and the Institute for Mexican Living Abroad (IME) the Federal Reserve Banks and Banco de México have organized a set of “Roadshows” in the United States in 2005 and 2006, where interested financial institutions could learn about the benefits of using Directo a México.

Roadshow seminars are located in cities around the United States where there is a large concentration of Mexican residents. In 2005 and 2006, the Roadshow stopped in the following cities:
